Musharraf Rules Out resignation in Current Scenario!

ISLAMABAD: President Pervez Musharraf said that he could not resign in current situation and if anyone wants to impeach, there is constitutional procedure available for it.

Talking to senior journalists here on Saturday, Musharraf said that political and economical situation of the country is worst and he is always talking about reconciliation.

Replying to a question about using 58-2B, President said that he does not want to discuss other option.

When asked about whether he would opt the option of resignation or use 58-2B if he feels that present government has failed, Musharraf said he does not want to discuss the other option.

If parliament could seize his powers, whether he wants to continue as president, Musharraf said that he would take the decision when the moment comes. He said that he would respect the decision of parliament.

About impeachment, the president said if anyone wants to impeach him, there is a constitutional procedure. He extended his cooperation to the prime minister.

Rejecting Dr. Qadeer’s statement that he was pressurized; Musharraf said that Pakistan had faced embarrassment because of him.

Regarding anti-Musharraf statements issued by retired generals, he said that he could also talk against them but couldn’t.

Musharraf has termed the Balochistan situation as uncertain.
